While I am attending to these psychotic dogs that like to attack each other at the neck (but my family calls it ‘playing’) I started watching the documentary, Food Inc. I had never seen it before because people told me it would ruin eating almost anything. As I watched it, I was disgusted by how the animals were kept and butchered, but most of all, I was disgusted by how and where the farmers and factory workers end up where they are.

I won’t get into the details of it, (and I have yet to finish the last ten minutes of it) but as I was watching and nodding in dismay, I was also looking up natural and organic markets around my living areas; I also contemplated the difference in cost regarding normal and organic foods. I mean, I’ve always known that the meat packing industry was crazy after reading Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle, but I thought things may have changed.

They did change alright. They got worse with all the corruption in the business. Early on, I was wondering why this issue isn’t really targeted by politicians and I found out why later in the documentary. Those people that are supposed to be monitoring the businesses actually have stakes in them. It’s slightly disturbing.

Starting now, or more realistically, when I go back up to school, I will engage in the non-GMO altered food. It’s a mission to live a healthier, more spiritually whole life if you will. When I say that, I mean: I want the exercising, eating healthier, and being mentally sound throughout school to work together to make me a complete healthy person.

Let’s see where it goes from here.

Ps. The weather in Southern California is sucking lately. It’s been raining for about a week, and I am not enjoying this change of pace.

I’ll keep you posted on how this is all going as far as money raising and stuff.

On another note, I have MCATs in about 7 weeks and I need to get on studying. I just finished school and celebrated my mother’s birthday today. I head back up to school tomorrow for classes and then I’ll be home for good after that.

So the papers are due tomorrow by noon. I just finished one. I need to finish 4 more. Procrastination at its finest because I have class tonight for 3 hours. OHHH how I love my life.

Pre post-finals, I am almost done, and when I am, you will feel my wrath!

(I have officially lost it)

I can go back to being a ‘normal’ person with civil duties instead of that crazy psychopathic student that keeps studying and doesn’t eat normal meals. I can get back to being a girl just living life and running errands and playing with my puppy. Not one that is trying to make it to office hours, mcat classes and still making time to keep up with shows and friends and family and for a lack of better words, a life.

College sucks the life out of you. Before you get there, at least for me, I thought that I would have a new beginning, a fresh perspective, but it’s all what you make of it. Most pre-med students like me would make school one of their top priorities rounding 2 or 3 at the furthest. Some things that I thought I could not tolerate are now in my living room (not literally). But do you know what I mean? Some things that you would have taken care of before now, just don’t get done because you are ‘used’ to them. Because you are too scared to change it… Or even worst of all- shear LAZINESS!

I don’t want to be this person. I refuse.

I thought that was really funny because in first grade, all you are worried about is making friends and having the cool clothes so you don’t get made fun of. As we grow older, we forget when it’s okay to talk and when it’s not. We tend to talk only when we have to, only when we need something. Talking was something that used to be fun and now it just seems like it’s a burden.

I don’t know how it gets this far, but it is truly sad. So many things fail due to miscommunication, or lack of communication. I think it’s time to go back to our first grade selves and learn.

I tend to pick up shows the week before midterms or finals and it all just ends badly because that’s all I ever do. I watch that online and fail to acknowledge that life outside of Dexter, Weeds, Grey’s Anatomy exists. I become so immersed in all of the drama and life of the characters that I sometimes wished my life will (now or in the future) resemble one of those drama filled, tear-jerking shows.

I like dealing with the drama when I don’t have it… But the moment it starts, I will crumble like Renaissance art. Oh how the feeling of being alone only hurts when you really are alone.

I’m depressing. I have a midterm tomorrow.
